At Lakefield College School, we believe that food is more than just nourishment—it’s a way to bring our community together. The Winder Smith Dining Hall offers a diverse and nutritious dining experience, catering to a wide range of tastes and dietary needs.
A Variety of Fresh, Delicious Options
Our dining hall features multiple food stations, including:
- Main Line: A rotating six-week menu for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with protein-rich options like chicken, beef, pork, fish, tofu, legumes, and eggs. Every day our cooks prepare two homemade soups with a vegetarian option always available. You can find the daily updated menu on edsby.
- Marche: Daily global cuisine selections and specialty pop-up bars in conjunction with cultural events, and spirit day such as Dia de los Muertos, Passover, Eid, Diwali, Valentines Day, Gladiator Day and more.
- Salad & Deli Bar: Fresh, homemade salads with six house-made dressings, fresh cut vegetables, and salad toppings. Plus a variety of proteins like hummus, tofu, tuna, eggs, cold cuts, cheeses, and an assortment of breads and bagels. Build your own sandwich and grill it on our panini press!
- Additional Offerings: A dedicated bagel and cereal bar at every meal, a daily rice station, and a full beverage station with fresh juices, milk alternatives, and Starbucks specialty coffee.
Vegetarian/Vegan options are always available, students can ask our cooks for daily protein offerings.
If you have dietary restrictions or allergies, please talk to our cooks and managers about your dietary needs. For more information about how Aramark approaches dietary and allergy needs see our Purple Allergy Leader page.
Snacks & Late-Night Options
Students have access to:
- Daily Snack Carts: Stocked with fresh fruit throughout the school day.
- Tuesday Treats: Rotating baked goods such as cookies, brownies, and Rice Krispie squares.
-
House Pantry Supplies: Weekly deliveries of cereal, waffles, bagels, milk, and bread for students to enjoy in their residences.
Sustainable & Farm-to-Table Dining
Through our Coolfood Options initiative with the World Resources Institute, we incorporate climate-friendly meals and prioritize farm-to-table ingredients. Our very own farm at Northcote Campus supplies over 4,000 pounds of fresh produce annually, including fresh greens, corn, squash, and tomatoes. Seasonal treats like Lakefield maple syrup and honey are used in signature dishes like maple-ginger salmon and homemade honey balsamic dressing.
Student Feedback & Involvement
Our dining program is shaped by the student voice. A dedicated Food Committee meets weekly with school leadership to discuss menu ideas and preferences. We also invite students to share family recipes from home to be featured on our Marche.
We’re proud to offer a welcoming dining experience that supports a healthy, sustainable, and inclusive community. Enjoy your meals at Winder Smith Dining Hall!
